Black River Gold Slot Review

Black River Gold Slot Review

The fourth entry in the popular Gold series from ELK Studios is the Black River Gold slot game. This takes us on a trip to the American Plains, where Kane and his crew are searching for gold using a slot grid that expands and changes the deeper they get. The title is one of the more innovative of the series, taking features from previous games and building on them. Let’s take it for a spin and find out how effective it is in this Black River Gold slot review.

Black River Gold Slot Details

The Black River Gold slot game takes players deep into the North American plains. A giant mountain fills the background, with the series’s main character, Kane, taking refuge as a high-playing symbol on the reels. The slot is really nicely designed and fits well within the canon of American-Plain-themed titles. The game’s 6x4 grid expands throughout the game, with some neat animations playing into the expansions.

How To Play Black River Gold

There is plenty of variety on offer in the gameplay of the Black River Gold slot. The game uses a 6x4 grid to start with, with the number of wins in the game starting at 4,096. Whenever players land a win, a cascading effect is triggered and the number of rows and ways to win can increase.

The slot can be played for a minimum of £0.20 and a maximum of £100. This is the kind of betting range you will find in most top online slots and is going to cover the majority of budgets.

There is also some good winning potential on offer. The slot offers a maximum win of 5,000x the player’s stake, and an RTP of 96.1%, which puts it marginally above the industry average of 96%.

Black River Gold Slot Game Features

ELK Studios likes to load its slots up with extras, and the Black River Gold bonus features certainly do not disappoint.

Bonus Spins

The Bonus Spins round is triggered when three or more Bonus symbols land in one spin. Three triggers 10, while four, fix or six triggers 15, 20, or 25 drops respectively. It is possible to retrigger them during the round. In the spins, the grid expands and can go all the way to eight rows, with 262,144 different ways to win. There are also safety levels, which is when the rows lock and the number will not drop beneath that level for the rest of the game.

Wild Compass

The Wild Compass bonus is triggered whenever the Wild Compass lands. This then points in different directions, turning the symbols it points at into Wilds.

Revolver

Big symbols absorb smaller ones and create a Revolver icon. When this happens, the Revolver then represents all of the symbols it has absorbed. When it is full, it turns Wild.

Avalanche

The Avalanche mechanic is launched after every win. The winning symbols disappear from the grid and create an avalanche effect, with new ones falling into their place.

Big Symbols

Super, mega and epic symbols of 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4 make appearances on the reels.

Black River Gold Verdict

Black River Gold is an excellent slot game from the ever-reliable ELK Studios. The slot’s highly volatile, cascading-focused gameplay provides plenty of winning opportunities and keeps players engaged throughout. The Bonus Spins round, in particular, was a stand-out for us, with the increasing number of rows and ways to win working nicely with the avalanche mechanic. If you’re looking for an innovative slot game with fun bonuses and some good winning potential, then the Black River Gold slot is for you.
